Medrol is available as 2, 4, 8, 16 or 32 mg strength tablets. Dosages are extremely variable and are based on what diseases are being treated. Medrol may interact with aspirin (taken on a daily basis or at high doses), diuretics (water pills), blood thinner, cyclosporine, insulin or oral diabetes medications, ketoconazole, rifampin, seizure medications , or "live" vaccines . Tell your doctor all medications and supplements you use and all vaccines you recently received. Medrol use in pregnancy is not advised; benefits versus potential problems should be considered for pregnant women. Medrol is not advised for women who are breastfeeding. Medrol has been used in pediatric patients, but the dosage should be carefully adjusted for each patient and disease.

Reta, I know what you mean, oxycontin is way too expensive!! There are many meds. that can be just as effective & even more effective & a LOT cheaper. Everyone is different & what works for one may not work for another. It also depends on what is causing your pain as opioids are not a one size fits all. You need to tell your doc that it is just too expensive & he should have no problem giving you something different. Be Careful of stopping a time release med. like oxycontin that you have been on for awhile as stopping “cold turkey” can be dangerous, so you need to let your doc know asap. I hope all goes well.

Kenalog in blood - Derby et al. "Size and aggregation of corticosteroids used for epidural injections"

  • Depo-Medrol also formed large aggregations in the study by Tiso et al [6]
  • Celestone Soluspan formed large aggregations only in the Derby et al study  [7 ]
  • It is speculated that these large aggregates occlude smaller vessels, and thus lead to infarction .
